The project stems from Ikea's commitment to the well-being and health of its employees, making it a pioneering company in this area. The Ikea Murcia store has been chosen to implement this pilot project in partnership with Bodytone, both nationally and internationally.
The project is linked to occupational health, with the medical service responsible for the gym. However, Ikea has positively impacted the recreational use of the facility by investing in state-of-the-art equipment from BODYTONE. The area has been equipped with the latest cardio technology, including the EVOT1+ treadmill, EVOE1+ elliptical trainer, and the latest model of the advanced WT1 exercise bike. A wide range of strength training and functional training products has also been installed, promoting overall health with back support equipment and cable crossovers, along with a variety of free weights and suspension training tools. The facility also features an area for group fitness classes.
The gym was inaugurated last January, with a great reception from Ikea employees, and featured a professional trainer from Bodytone who gave a class aimed at the staff who have piloted the project.
The project has sparked interest from numerous brands across various sectors that want to adapt this idea and integrate it into their companies. This demonstrates the growing trend of integrating sports into the workplace, thereby promoting the health, well-being, and quality of life of employees.
